September 2015

These are some of our latest pictures. Paint is finished, tile almost finished, gate and security grill installed, electric is in and working. The water tower is complete and the tank is on the property (only need the pump now).

Praise the Lord! Our landlady (from our Nairobi apt) has provided us with furniture, bedding (to sleep up to 9), and curtains for the Team/Training House. We will be ready for Teams shortly!

October 2013

Here are some of the final construction pictures of the Team/Training House in  rural Kakuyuni, taken during our recent 3 1/2 month mission trip.

We were able to completely enclose the House with windows and doors before returning to the U.S.

The House is ready for final completion when we return to Kenya, and when the needed funds are available.

Thank you for your continued prayer for completion of the House, as we are excited to see the Lord’s ministry grow, right in the heart of the Kenyan people.

The roof is now completed on the entire house and here are some of the pics. We don’t have a good view from the front of the House because of the mango trees.

We are now ready for the Windows and the Doors. We believe the Lord will provide the needed funds to finish the House (full amt is required to order the windows and doors) this year.

First level of the Teaching/Training House

These photos show the construction that was completed this fall on the Teaching/Training House and the septic system.  The walls of the Teaching/Training House are now up to the top of the windows. The jack arches are over the windows and doors. We are now ready for the concrete ringbeam and the roof.

Ric continues to teach the local workers “hands on” constructions skills and basic principles as work on the project continues.

These photos show the work progress that was made prior to the Taylor’s returning to the states. Phase 2 is complete up to the finished grade so that Ric and the teams can begin working from the floor up when he returns to Kenya in late February.

September 2, 2010

On Thursday, September 2, Ric took James and Pete with him to Kakuyuni to the construction site. The footers had been dug and the building materials had begun to arrive. Ric taught the village men whom he had hired the art of making a uniform concrete mix and how to make a continuous pour using bulkheads. They quickly got the hang of things and the footers were poured in a little more than a day. Once the footers were poured, the men set to work finishing the digging of footers for the Teaching/Training House, so that they could begin pouring them on Monday, September 6.
